Meet Fafa!

She’s a beautiful 6-year-old German Shepherd and, honestly, she’s a perfect angel. She’s incredibly kind, gentle and affectionate, and absolutely loves being with her people. Whether it’s going for walks, playing outside or simply relaxing by your side, Fafa just wants to be part of the family.

She’s an active girl, so a home that can give her regular exercise, playtime and mental enrichment would be ideal. She also loves companionship and would do best with someone who is home more often than not.

Fafa would be wonderful with children and would make a lovely family companion. She would do best as the only dog in the home so she can soak up all the love and attention. She has also lived with cats before.

If you’re looking for a sweet, gentle girl who is ready to be someone’s best friend, come meet Fafa anytime Mon-Sun, 11:00 AM – 6:00PM at the Ontario SPCA York Region Animal Centre at 16586 Woodbine Avenue in Stouffville. She really is a special one!

With temperatures heating again this week, it's the perfect time to remember that pets and hot cars never mix.

Even on a warm day, the temperature inside a parked vehicle can rise to dangerous levels in just minutes—even if the windows are cracked. Leaving your pet in a vehicle for "just a few minutes" can quickly become life-threatening, putting them at risk of heat exhaustion or fatal heatstroke.

Help keep your furry family members safe by leaving them at home if they can't come inside with you. Make sure they have access to fresh water, shade, and a cool place to rest, and avoid walks during the hottest parts of the day.

Visit NoHotPets.ca to take the No Hot Pets Pledge and commit to protecting pets from the dangers of hot vehicles. As a thank you, you'll be entered for a chance to win a YETI prize pack!

This summer, be their hero. No Hot Pets—because a parked car is never a safe place for your pet.
