The first steps in planning your wedding is determining what your wedding budget is. Sit with your partner and decide what you can both afford to spend, who will be helping with what and break it down into your expenses.

Z103.5 recommends this general outline on approximately what percentage should be spent on the following categories.

Attire – 9%
Flowers – 8%
Stationary – 2%
Photo/Video – 12%;
All music – 7%
Ceremony – 3%
Reception – 48%
Rings – 3%
Transportation – 2%

To see if you are on budget multiply your wedding budget by the percentage you're allocated in each category.

Your budget will ultimately depend on 2 things:
  1. The style of the wedding you want.
  2. How many people you plan on inviting.
The average wedding costs $32,000 dollars, not including the honeymoon. This does not mean a wedding can't be a lot less or much more expensive. You as a couple must decide on what you can afford and try hard to follow it.

While planning you might want to set up a joint back account for all your wedding expenses so it makes it easier when deposits and payments need to be paid. This can also help you realize how close or far you are to your wedding budget.

Good Luck !!!
