Shia LaBeouf Tries For Plea Deal
News
A judge has given Shia LaBeouf six weeks to agree a deal with prosecutors over his disorderly conduct case. The actor appeared in court in New York City yesterday for a hearing connected to his arrest at a Broadway theater last month. LaBeouf, 28, who was detained by police for disrupting a production of Cabaret, has denied charges of disorderly conduct and criminal trespass, but his lawyer G. Robert Gage is attempting to work out a plea deal. During the hearing yesterday, the judge overseeing the case at the Manhattan court gave both sides six weeks to agree a resolution and ordered the star back for another hearing on September 10. After the Broadway outburst, LaBeouf enrolled in an outpatient rehab program to tackle his drinking.
Alec Baldwin Off The Hook In Bike Case
News
He was scolded by a judge and vowed to stay out of trouble during a court appearance in Manhattan yesterday, and it worked. Alec Baldwin was arrested in May and charged with disorderly conduct after he allegedly got belligerent with the police officers who said they stopped him for riding a bicycle the wrong way down a one-way street. "Looks like you have a short fuse," Manhattan Criminal Court Judge John DeLury told Baldwin while looking over the allegations against him; they're violations, not crimes. After Baldwin repeatedly said he'd pay a fine for the May 13 encounter — though the judge said he was just asking for an apology — DeLury put the case on track to be dismissed if the actor avoids re-arrest for six months. It's a common outcome for low-level cases in Manhattan. "Can you stay out of trouble, Alexander?" DeLury asked. "Sure, sure," Baldwin said. "Be a good boy from now on. Have a good day!"
This Is Why A Seinfeld Movie Won’t Happen
News
Jerry Seinfeld was answering questions from fans yesterday, and he was asked a question he is asked often “Do you ever think of doing more with Seinfeld?” Seinfeld replied with a a no. He says “I think it would be lame, and I think it would be an embarrassment to the nice place that the show occupies. I’m absolutely happy keeping it the way it is.” He tells his fans honestly “I could have easily done the show for one or two or three more years, but it would have changed the way people look back at it. I think I made the right decision. Because people like the show now even more than they did in the 1990s, because it didn’t get worn out.”
