Steve Jobs Movie Is Back On
It seems now that the Steve Jobs Biopic is back on track, this time with Universal Pictures on board. Michael Fassbender is said to be starring as Steve Jobs. According to The Hollywood Reporter, a Universal Studios spokesman has confirmed that a deal was reached for the film, with sources saying that the project had been shopped with a price tag of more than $ 30 million. Christian Bale decided to opt out, as he felt it was not for him. That is when they decided to put the film on hold.
Shia LaBeouf Update
In a Manhattan Criminal Court yesterday, Shia LaBeouf proved to the judge that he had been attending an alcohol treatment program, and is still on track (as per his plea deal). The judge seemed impressed. He’s due back in court March 20. Shia didn’t say a word as he left the courthouse. In September, the star copped to disorderly conduct and agreed to complete the program, and in exchange, as long as he’s not rearrested, the charges against him will be dismissed. He faces raps for criminal trespass, disorderly conduct and harassment for the drunken tantrum. Shia chased a homeless man around Times Square, attempting to snatch a bag of food out of the man’s hand. He then caused a ruckus at the “Cabaret” performance at Studio 54, standing up in the middle of the show, shouting obscenities, smoking several cigarettes and even slapping one of the actors on the behind. When cops escorted him out in cuffs, he unloaded a verbal assault.
Jordin Sparks Releases Angry Song About Jason Derulo
If you thought Jordin Sparks wasn’t angry about her breakup with Jason Derulo earlier this year, think again. She has just dropped a diss track that’s littered with profanity, and it’s aimed squarely at Jason. The song is called “How Bout Now (Remix),” and it’s based directly — music and lyrics — on Drake’s song “How Bout Now.” The chorus goes, “You ain’t really f**k with me way back then, but how ’bout now?/’Cause I’m up right now and you suck right now/You thought you had it all figured out back then, boy, but how ’bout now?/’Cause I’m up right now/and you suck right now.” In case there’s any question about who Jordin’s singing about, the lyrics include the line, “Remember when you broke your neck and I had to wash your back for ya?/You probably don’t remember half the sh*t that I did for ya.” Jordin and Jason famously got close after he literally broke his neck onstage, and she nursed him back to health. Other lyrics include “Your head got big and you started changing”, “What you’re dying is to be is the famous.”
Ariana Grande Responds To Bette Midler
There was some harsh criticism this week from Bette Midler, who openly said Ariana Grande doesn’t need to make a “whore” out of herself to succeed in the music business. Midler went after Grande and other young singers in a recent interview, questioning their adherence to a “sex sells” marketing model. Midler was quoted as saying, “It’s terrible! It’s always surprising to see someone like Ariana Grande with that silly high voice, a very wholesome voice, slithering around on a couch… looking so ridiculous.” Midler added that she’d advise young stars, “Trust your talent. You don’t have to make a whore out of yourself to get ahead. You really don’t.” Yesterday, Grande responded on Twitter. She posted a picture of Midler (wearing a skimpy outfit) and the message, “All love here.” Grande also wrote, “Bette was always a feminist who stood for women being able to do whatever the F they wanted without judgment! Not sure where that Bette went but I want that sexy mermaid back!!! Always a fan no matter what my love.” Grande also tweeted: “And I will still quote First Wives Club every single day of my life lmao.” Hours later, Midler took to her own Twitter account to comment, writing, “About my screed on @ArianaGrande, all I can say is, ‘Spoken like a reformed old whore! She does have a beautiful voice, on a couch or off.’”
Rihanna And Brad Pitt Team Up
Earlier this month, Rihanna announced plans to hold her first Diamond Ball benefiting the Clara Lionel Foundation, a philanthropic organization founded by the singer. Now, she’s revealed that Brad Pitt and Jimmy Kimmel will attend the event, taking place December 11 in Los Angeles. “It is such an honor to have Jimmy Kimmel host this event. There is no one more hilarious to make the first annual Diamond Ball an incredible night. I’m blessed by his support,” Rihanna said in a statement. ”Brad Pitt is not only a phenomenal talent, but I admire him and am inspired by his philanthropic work.” The upcoming ceremony will be held at The Vineyard in Beverly Hills with a guest list maxing out at 600. The singer has planned a festive event, during which she will perform backed by a live orchestra. In addition, guests will enjoy dinner and a live auction. The organization, which honors her grandparents Clara and Lionel Brathwaite, aims to fund efforts that promote health, education, arts and culture globally.
