What a weekend! I attended a gala the 6th annual "Night for Rights" hosted by JHR: journalists for Human Rights. They were able to raise tons of money for their foundation. For those of you who don't know what JHR is they are a foundation whose goal is to make everyone in the world fully aware of their rights. Creating rights awareness is the first and most necessary step to ending rights abuse. By mobilizing the media to spread human rights awareness, JHR informs people about human rights, empowering marginalized communities to stand up, speak out and protect themselves. It was a great event followed by an even greater concert with Z 103.5 and Danny Fernandes the following day.

OMG! what a concert. Phil and I worked the Z 103.5 remote with Danny Fernandes and Tony Monaco, it was in one word.. amazing!. Listeners were there before 8 am in the morning to see Danny rehearse and take pre concert pictures. The Toronto Life Square people gave us some great prizes to give our listeners, they got to spin and win!. We had Danny Idol, where listeners sang their favourite Danny Fernandes song for Z swag. We also had Danny Trivia... you'd be surprised what listeners told us! ie: like what car he drove lol.

Danny sure didn't disappoint. He sounded great and sang 7 songs off of his album Intro and sang his current single "Fantasy" last. Some lucky fans got cds from Danny himself and everyone had a meet and greet. I was really impressed, he gave his fans all the time they wanted and one fan brought about six items to sign and he signed each and every one. We also had a surprise visit from Serena Paris "Baby Look At Us". She heard on the radio that Tony Monaco was at the Toronto Life building so she came by to say hello.
